Instrument Rental Info

All instruments in the band program need to be rented from the school or a music store, or provided by the student. It is cheaper to rent from the school, however, there is a limited supply of instruments, and the quality is not as high as those rented from a music store. For percussionists, practice pads and sticks are helpful for home-practice, and snare drums can also be taken home if this is workable.

For students needing to rent an instrument from the school, there is a rental fee of $70.00 for the year. If it is helpful, you may also break this into two payments of $35.00, one in September and the second in January. Instruments are available to rent on a first-come, first-served basis, and all payments are handled through the SchoolCashOnline system. *Note: there is no insurance coverage for school-owned instruments, so students and families are responsible for the care and security of the instrument when it is not at school.

Tapestry Music provides very good quality instruments through an online rental system, and they supply instruments to the school. Other sources for instrument rentals are Long & McQuade and Tom Lee Music. Some of the rental agreements involve a rent-to-own policy, which helps you in the event that you wish to buy an instrument.
